Isle of Man TT: Most Dangerous Motorsport Ever!

Let's shift the focus to racing motorcycles. Racing with just two wheels is very dangerous compared to race cars, which have bodywork, advanced seatbelts, roll cages, and HANS device. But racing riders only get to have a helmet, racing suit, and a bit of luck.

I remember riding a bicycle downhill with a faulty brake; it was one of the most dangerous things I've ever done in my life. However, I had so much fun, with adrenaline coursing through my veins and the wind rushing against my face as I rode down, hoping I wouldn't stop anytime soon. There were so many potential risks at that moment, including the possibility of losing my life. But that experience pales in comparison to what Isle of Man TT riders face every year.

The Isle of Man TT is an annual motorcycle racing event where riders compete on a public road circuit in the town of Douglas on the Isle of Man. The TT Course, as it is commonly known, spans a distance of over 60 kilometres per lap, making it the longest circuit in the world.

Peter Hickman's World Record Lap

It's hard to imagine how Peter Hickman, who holds the lap record at 16 minutes and 36 seconds, achieved an average speed of over 210 km/hr while racing through the streets of Douglas on the Isle of Man which features narrow, bumpy roads with slow and fast corners throughout its entire length. This makes Formula 1 drivers seem inexperienced when you consider the track's length, the complexity of its corners, and the level of risk involved.

A minor mistake on the Isle of Man circuit can be fatal, as there have been 266 fatalities since the event's inception in 1907. The Isle of Man TT is not for the faint of heart; it's for those who are exceptionally brave and willing to embrace the challenge that this insane course presents. If car racing is considered risky, the Isle of Man TT takes danger to a whole new level.
